retrorubral nucleus
Acronym:
The term retrorubral nucleus refers to a group of cells in the midbrain of the rat ( Paxinos-2009b ) and the mouse ( Franklin-2008 ). It is located lateral to the pedunculopontine nucleus at the level of the decussation of the superior cerebellar peduncle. It is not the same as the retrorubral area.
