The term temporal limb of the anterior commissure refers to one of two parts of the anterior commissure identified on the basis of internal structure. The other is the olfactory limb of the anterior commissure. In the human ( Carpenter-1983 ) and the macaque ( Carmichael-1996 ) it is posterior to, and larger than the olfactory limb. In the rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and mouse ( Hof-2000 ) it is posterodorsal to, and considerably smaller than the olfactory limb.
